6 million – The number of people who expect or are planning a marriage proposal on Valentine’s Day.
Ever wonder where or why Valentine’s Day even started? The day was first associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. In 18th-century England, it evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as “valentines“). In Europe, Saint Valentine’s Keys are given to lovers “as a romantic symbol and an invitation to unlock the giver’s heart”. This day will always hold a special day in my heart, as it was the day that my grandparents married, many years ago. They too shared in romantic love and expressed this to each other daily.

As far as some of the smaller details…Here, in Georgia, the weather can get kind of sticky. You know…hot, humid, and even rainy. So while you don’t have any control over the weather, one thing you do have control over, is not letting pesky mosquitoes ruin your special day.
At Mosquito Squad of Duluth-Lawrenceville, we focus on reducing a property’s mosquito population by up to 90%, ensuring that mosquitoes are left off the guest list. We provide a special events spray, where our trained technicians will come out and spray the vegetation and other areas where pests are known to feed and harbor. They will pay particular attention to the areas where guests will be gathering outdoors, too.
The smiles, the laughter, and the memories, are the outcome of great planning. So while you may not have thought that there was such a company like us…now that you’re aware, don’t forget to include us in your plans so that you can have piece of mind.
